Teach the machine
This is a perceptron, one of the oldest and simplest kinds of AI. It knows nothing at first. Give it examples, and it learns to tell orange dots from black dots.
- 1Pick a colour, then tap the square to drop dots.
- 2Put the orange dots on one side and the black dots on the other.
- 3Press Train and watch the line move until it separates them.
How does it actually work?
The machine has three numbers, called weights. Together they describe a straight line. For every dot it guesses: “which side of my line is this on?”
When it guesses wrong, it nudges the weights a little toward the right answer. Do that again and again and the line slides into place. That nudge-and-repeat idea is still at the heart of the big AI models today.
Try this: put orange dots in a ring around black dots. The machine can't do it. A single straight line can't draw a circle. That limit is why people invented bigger networks.
